Dear Delegates, Faculty Advisors, and Friends,

On behalf of our secretariat and staff, I could not be more honored to welcome you to the Windy City as the Secretary-General for the Twenty-Ninth Session of ChoMUN, to be held from Thursday, April 2, through Sunday, April 5, 2026, at the Palmer House Hilton in downtown Chicago.

Since our first conference in 1998, ChoMUN has grown into North America's largest and most competitive crisis conference. Today, we are proud to consistently rank as a Delegate’s Choice for Best Conference, showcasing our focus on the delegate experience and our commitment to innovation. This upcoming year, ChoMUN XXIX will host over 1,000 delegates and staff, maintaining our better-than-4:1 delegate-to-staff ratio to ensure that our committees offer a thrilling, competitive, and engaging committee experience.

This year, our innovative approach remains unchanged, and we continue to push the envelope in formulating new approaches to our beloved activity of Model UN. That experimentation is propelled and sustained by our executive staff’s academic dedication and rigorous research, all in order to ensure that each committee is a substantive and well-crafted one. ChoMUN’s core, after all, is about the stories that delegates and staff get to bring to life together, and this year is as true to that core as ever. Our committees take us from icy Cold War bunkers in Greenland to city planning in the Pearl River Delta; from bootleggers in Galveston to national parks in Madagascar; and from the hills and pillars of Rome to the stars and planets of the Alpha Centauri system. This snapshot only scratches the surface of our offerings, and our dedicated executives and staff will work tirelessly to ensure that your delegate experience is the best one yet.
