The House of Gucci: The Missing Thread (1983)

Welcome to Milan’s most glamorous scene, where fashion meets financial instability after the death of Rodolfo Gucci. As delegates, you will work to restore order and reclaim the reputation within the House of Gucci. Additionally, you will unveil the truth about such greed, betrayal, and questionable fashion attire from the 30s. BEWARE of counterfeit pieces being passed around, both in fashion and in the truth.

Rodolfo’s will has also mysteriously been lost, so who will work to find it? Could it possibly be taken from someone?

Fallo con glamour or loot it for all it's got.

The choice is yours.

Eric Nguyen

Chair

Eric is a second-year at UChicago, and cannot wait to be the Crisis Director for the House of Gucci at ChoMUN XXIX! Last year, Eric served as a chair for the “Treble in the Crescent City: New Orleans Jazz Scene” committee for ChoMUN XXVIII. Eric is also involved in other parts of the MUNiverse: on the collegiate level, he has competed on the UChicago Traveling Team.

Outside of MUN, Eric is a member of the FBLA RSO as well as the Red Cross RSO. He is super excited to see you all at ChoMUN next year, and if you have any questions, feel free to reach out at etnguyen@uchicago.edu.

Alex Munoz Villar

Crisis Director

Alex is a second-year at the University of Chicago planning to major in Law, Letters, and Society (LLSO) and Political Science. This will be his first time chairing a committee, and he’s extremely excited to bring the House of Gucci to life! He has always been drawn to the intersection of politics, pop culture, and narrative-building, and this committee is his way of blending all three.

Outside of MUN, Alex is involved in FBLA and Lawtinos. He can’t wait to serve as your chair for ChoMUN XXIX and see delegates navigate the culture and controversy! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out at amunozvillar@uchicago.edu.

Benjamin Kleinman

CRISIS DIRECTOR

Ben is a junior majoring in Economics, because he decided that he wanted to study a niche subject that nobody else at UChicago does (don’t fact check that). Between high school and college he has (despite his efforts to quit) been part of Model UN for five years, being the CD of one fish-themed and two space-themed committees.

Outside of school, Ben is a history buff and avid fan of grand strategy games (I.e., those games where you look at maps for hours and hours on end awaiting the sweet dopamine rush of random numbers increasing). Ben is incredibly excited to be one of the CDs for the House of Gucci committee this year, and in particular, is excited by the free Gucci that CHOMUN promised to give the committee execs. That was the deal, right?

If you have any questions, or are also interested in getting free Gucci, please reach out to Ben at bdkleinman@uchicago.edu.
