Jose alvarez

Chair

Jose is a second-year at UChicago majoring in Political Science with a minor in Human Rights. He is from McAllen, Texas, which is in the southern part of Texas. Inside MUN, Jose has served as a Chair for the NATO committee in MUNUC 38, as well as Assistant Chair at ChoMUN XXVIII in the Not That Castro: Cipriano Castro’s Cabinet, 1902 committee.

Outside of MUN, Jose works with the Career Development team at the Institute of Politics, is involved in student government, and other RSOs. When he finally takes a break, Jose plays tennis, flies planes, and watches lots of cooking shows.

Marie friend

Crisis Director

Marie is a second-year at the college majoring in Neuroscience on the Pre-Health track. She grew up in Dallas, Texas, making the transition to the Windy City a little difficult. Inside of MUN, Marie served as an Assistant Chair for the Grand Granada Gambit: The Fall of Granada, 1410 at CHOMUN XXVlll. 

Outside of MUN, Marie is active in a wide variety of RSOs and conducts clinical research at the UChicago Medical Center. If she’s not in her lab or the library (procrastinating her problem sets and studying), she loves baking sweet treats and going to the gym.

paola garcia

CRISIS DIRECTOR

Paola Garcia is a second-year here at UChicago, majoring in Biology, Biochemistry, and Chemistry. This is her second ever year doing Model UN, and she has fully enjoyed her time in the activity! Last year, Paola served as an AC for the Grand Granada Gambit: Nasrid Emirate of Granada committee at ChoMUN XXVIII.
