The Commission on crime prevention and criminal justice
The Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ) is a functional commission of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), created on February 6, 1992, by ECOSOC resolution 1992/1. ECOSOC acted on the blueprint contained in General Assembly resolution 46/152, which called for a stronger global program in crime prevention and criminal justice after the Cold War. Today, the CCPCJ remains a cornerstone of international cooperation against organized crime and corruption.

Will strader
Chair
Will is a third-year in the College studying Economics and Data Science (though he’s always open to a passionate debate about whether he should’ve just been a political science major instead). He’s a member of UChicago’s various Model UN organizations, serving as an AC for the World Health Organization at ChoMUN XXVIII and the SPECPOL committee at MUNUC, our high school conference last year.
Originally from Wisconsin, Will insists that deep dish is dinner, not a lifestyle, and will walk absurd distances for good coffee. When he’s not working on machine learning projects or prepping for the next conference, you can usually and him stress-organizing his Outlook Calendar or pretending to understand modern art at the Art Institute.

Mia sullivan
ChaiR
Mia is a third-year at UChicago majoring in (maybe?) Economics and Political Science. She is not quite set on either and still debates other paths, but has taken too many Economics classes to turn back now. A proud third-generation New Yorker, she has very strong opinions on pizza (New York style only, no deep dish casseroles), everything bagels, and fluffy dogs. Despite currently going to school in Chicago, she’ll be the first to tell you she doesn’t really live there, and is just temporarily displaced. She is currently training for a marathon, so don’t ask about it unless you want to talk about her training plan, and race playlist for at least 20 minutes. (Or do-- she loves to talk about it.)
She has been a chair for ESCAP, and an assistant chair for ECOFIN. She also used to compete before coming to UChicago, and isn’t sure if her passion for diplomacy or winning is stronger. For MUN-related questions, fluffy dog photos, or rants about the best running shoes, feel free to reach out to: miasullivan@uchicago.edu
