UChicago’s travel Team

TEAM is UChicago’s competitive travel MUN team. Over the school year, we attend a variety of Model United Nations conferences across North America. As one of the oldest collegiate Model UN teams, TEAM at UChicago has been highly competitive while remaining a tight-knit on-campus community. Our team has been ranked within the top 5 teams in the entire 13-year history of the global collegiate MUN rankings, and we’re the only team to have achieved this. This past year, we were ranked 3rd and are looking forward to being even more competitive this year.

We do not hold tryouts and we welcome people of all years to join at any point during the year :)

If you’re a UChicago student interested in joining us, fill out the interest form below and sign up for our email list to receive weekly emails! If you have any questions or want to learn more about projecting, reach out to any member of TEAMSec (listed below).

Frequently Asked Questions

  • If you’re interested in joining, fill out the interest form above and sign up for our email list! If you have the chance to attend the RSO fair or our info sessions at the beginning of the school year, that’s a great place to learn more about TEAM and speak to our members. Feel free to reach out to Elliot (eclin@uchicago.edu) or Shweta (shwetananda@uchicago.edu) at any time so we can chat with you about joining!

  • Yes! In fact, all 4 members of TEAMSec didn’t do MUN before coming to UChicago either, so we get it. Every aspect of this activity is covered during training, and we are there to support you while you learn. We also do not hold tryouts, so everyone who is interested in joining TEAM can become a member. All we ask is that you show up to practice consistently and be ready to try your best!

  • TEAM is a 3 hour per week time commitment. We meet on Wednesdays from 8-9 PM and Sundays from 11 AM-1 PM.
