Ad-hoc Committee of the SEcretary-General

The Ad Hoc Committee of the Secretary General is designed to give experienced delegates a unique and exciting experience.

The committee itself will remain secret until shortly before conference when the background guide is released. Delegates will be forced to think creatively and quickly, and crisis skills will be continuously tested.

As the flagship committee of ChoMUN XXII, the Ad Hoc will be home to high caliber debate and strive to create the most innovative crisis experience on the circuit.

rebecca cunningham

Chair

Becca is a fourth-year double majoring in History, with a European and Imperial focus, and Political Science. After chairing the Women’s Social and Political Union and CDing for In Her Good Graces at ChoMUN in the past, she is excited to work with two of the greatest humans on the planet, Sabine and Faith, to bring the Ad Hoc to life.

In other, non-ChoMUN, Model UN spheres, Becca is a Chair for the University of Chicago’s high school conference MUNUC and because staffing two conferences just isn’t enough to fully sell an individual’s soul to a weird fantasy activity, Becca is also the Director of the UChicago Competitive Model UN Team.

In a last ditch, but failed, attempt to have activities (and friends) outside of all things Model UN, Becca is on the Women’s Rugby Team for UChicago, where she bruises so easily some (falsely) believe she is a hemophiliac.

Becca is very excited to see how the delegates of the Ad Hoc deal with the topics, the issues, and the mystery. If you have any questions feel free to email rcunnin@uchicago.edu.

sabine nau

Crisis Director

Sabine Nau is a fourth year in the college from Northern Virginia majoring in Public Policy with a concentration in Human Rights.

Besides being involved in ChoMUN, Team, and MUNUC, she is a tour guide in the admissions office, a member of Alpha Omicron Pi, and previously served on the executive slate for student government as the VP for Administration. Sabine is also incredibly excited to ditch the Chicago winter for Paris this upcoming winter quarter.

In what's left of her free time, she can be found going to comedy shows around the city, cooking dinner for friends, or binge watching on Netflix and Hulu.

Before being a Crisis Director for the Ad Hoc, Sabine was a USG for ChoMUN XXI, Crisis Director on the JCC: The Chicago Outfit for ChoMUN XX, and an AC on The Sikh Empire for ChoMUN XIX. She is looking forward to working with her fellow execs and welcoming you to one of the most exciting committees At ChoMUN XXII!

You can reach Sabine at sabinemnau@uchicago.edu.

faith shepherd

Crisis Director

Faith Shepherd is a third year pursuing a double major in Psychology and Comparative Human Development, and is excited to be CDing the Ad-hoc with such an incredible team of executives.

Some of her past ChoMUN experience includes ACing for Camelot and EACing on the Clans and Company of Grace O’Malley, where she loved delivering enthusiastic and often outlandish crisis updates in a variety of strange outfits.

In a thinly-veiled attempt to demonstrate responsibility, Faith spends time working as an RA to help first-years transition into college and teaching Sunday school to local children. She also enjoys acting in Shakespeare plays on campus, playing piano and ukulele, cooking, and pissing off her roommates by singing too loudly.

If you have awkward historical fanfiction or just want to reach out email faithshepherd@uchicago.edu.
